PERRY MASON  Raymond Burr, as "Perry Mason"

One of my favorite shows growing up, Perry Mason was a thinking mans' show.  Join me in celebrating the life of Raymond Burr and Perry Mason, Della Street, Paul Drake and Hamilton Burger and Sgt. Tragg.

Perry Mason (Raymond Burr) and his secretary, Della Street (Barbara Hale).Perry Mason
was the first legal drama on television.  Beginning in September of 1957, the drama starred Raymond Burr as attorney Perry Mason.  Long before Perry Mason, Raymond Burr had quite the film career. He was in over 90 movies before his role as Perry Mason including Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window.  After Perry Mason, Burr starred in the series Ironside where he played Robert Ironside and was twice nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

On Perry Mason, Raymond Burr's character was assisted by Paul Drake an investigator and Della Street, his secretary. Perry Mason was good...he never lost a case!  Fans loved the show and it is considered one of the most successful and longest-running lawyer series on television having ended in January of 1974.  It was later revived as a reunion movie in 1985 titled Perry Mason Returns.  After the success of the reunion movie, more television movies came out until Mr. Burr's death in September of 1993 when he died of kidney cancer.
