Tomato Sauce

A basic tomato sauce to top many types of meat, including Salisbury Steak and Meatloaf.  Enjoy!

Your host, Brad

 

No. 2 can of tomato puree or chopped tomatoes
1 tsp grated onion
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
2 Tbl butter
2 tsp flour
1/4 tsp Worcestershire

Combine first 4 ingredients and simmer for about 15 minutes.  If using whole or diced tomatoes, put through a strainer to remove seeds.

On medium heat, melt butter and blend in flour; add tomatoes and Worcestershire and stir until the sauce thickens.

Makes about 2 cups
