Salisbury Steak

Just plain old goodness.  Enjoy!

Your host, Brad

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef chuck
1 1/4 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
2 teaspoons grated onion
1 egg, beaten
Melted butter

Combine all ingredients except butter and mix together lightly.  On a buttered shallow baking pan, mold the meat into the shape of an oblong steak.  Brush top and sides with melted butter and place in a hot over, about 450°F.  Bake 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F to finish cooking, which will take about 25 minutes more.

You can baste with additional butter about every 10 minutes.

Serve with Tomato Sauce, Mushroom Gravy, or just as is.
