Submitted by: Carol Adams of Conway, Arkansas

1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup real butter softened
1 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese softened
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp real vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
2 3/4 cups flour

In large bowl combine all ingredients except flour and mix well. Stir in flour and chill at least 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. On floured surface roll out dough working with 1/3 at the time to 1/8" thick.

Cut into desired shapes with floured cutters and place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 7-10 minutes only until edges are brown, try not to over bake. Makes 5-6 dozen.

Sprinkle with colored sugar before baking or frost and decorate after cooling.
